We're in the process of figuring out how this forums business works so please forgive us our many stumbles. What we would like to have is a place where you can ask us questions, ask each other questions, and we can all share information. If you need to know something or are having a problem with a cooling system, post it here. Odds are we can help and, if not, someone here will be able to.

You can also make suggestions on what kinds of information you would like to see on our site.

Hi! This is Bill checking out how this forum business works. It's a bit convoluted but I think I'm getting the hang of it. Still a few bugs to work out ...

Hi I have a camper i own since 1997 i changed the well working original dometic fridge for a bigger that worked fine too, but needing a bigger one, i changed it for a freshly rebuild DOMETIC rm2611. This one never worked well. it work well if i let the camper stay level for a day, then i start it, and it may work well for many days if i don't drive the camper it may work fin for a few hours when driving, but usually during the first night we travel, temperature raise suddenly from -14c to 4,5,6,7c between 22h00 to midnight (i have put an alarme thermometer in the freezer) an then temp raise and raise. i have to turn off the fridge for a few hours before turning it on an then it may work for many hours, but it may repeat this problem randomly in the next days. Also when temp is over 23 to 25c. it is not very cold inside. i always take care of level when parking, I take the level on tho fridge not on the camper. All vent are clean, chimney is clean, burner is clean, lpg pressure is ok, intake vent is flush with the bottom of the fridge, output vent is on the top ans is clear of any obstruction, mineral wool have been put between the back fridge sides an top to insure a good upstream of fresh air. When the problem happen, the normally cold part of the cooling become very warm. Seeking on the web and speaking with two absorption fridge technicians let me know theses particular units (RM2611)are particularly subject to problems when moving, but the work well when istalled in a fix place (cottage, hunting camp, etc.) do you see something in the symptoms?, or are theses RM2611 really "capricious"
Thnaks for your feedback.
